Ward Manager – Operational & Clinical Leadership Opportunity

Join Badby Park, a proud division of Elysium Healthcare, as a Ward Manager and take charge of a unit’s operational and clinical success, ensuring world-class care delivery that aligns with outstanding CQC outcomes.
As a key member of the senior management team, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary team, driving quality, performance, and continuous improvement while managing both clinical and non-clinical teams. This 6-month contract role offers an exciting chance to shape care provision in a historic manor setting with excellent facilities and a tranquil countryside landscape, just outside Daventry.
About the Role & Responsibilities
This strategic leadership position requires you to:
- Oversee the holistic management of your unit—balancing operational delivery, clinical excellence, and financial sustainability.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team (MDT), including recruitment, appraisal, supervision, and professional growth.
- Ensure 100% staff compliance in mandatory training and supervision (with a minimum of 90%), creating a proactive and high-performance work environment.
- Liaise with senior medical staff, external stakeholders (e.g., social services, quality assessors), and central teams (catering, cleaning, stores).
- Collect, analyse, and utilise data to drive service improvement, financial accountability, and regulatory compliance.
- Deliver cost-effective high-quality care, meeting regulatory expectations while optimising resident outcomes.
- Represent your unit in internal meetings and external engagements, including budget setting, audits, and strategic development.
- Manage equipment, supplies, and medication, ensuring efficient use and availability.
- Maintain strong communication and branding for your service.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead recruitment, selection, appraisal, and training of clinical and non-clinical staff
- Ensure statutory compliance and resize risk exposure
- Monitor financial deltas, maintain tight budget constraints, and deliver value for money
- Drive service innovation, incorporating feedback mechanisms and performance standards
- Attend diverse meetings, present reports, and advocate for service excellence
- Oversee unit maintenance, hygiene, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Support Elysium’s safer recruitment policies and safeguarding obligations as part of frontline compliance
Key Requirements
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- Registered Qualified Nurse (or equivalent Allied Professional) with at least 5 years of experience, including 2 years in line management.
- A professional clinical management qualification (e.g., PGCert/NMC-equivalent).
- Demonstrated tangible leadership experience, particularly in budgeting, human resources, and quality assurance.
- Proficiency in data analysis and demonstrating tie between performance metrics and resident outcomes.
- A proven track record of cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
