Join Our Team as a Ward Sister – Elective Admissions and Discharge Department
Are you an experienced and motivated nursing leader looking for your next challenge? We are seeking an enthusiastic Ward Sister to lead our Elective Admissions and Discharge Department, ensuring patients receive a seamless, safe, and positive experience throughout their surgical journey.
About the Role
In this rewarding role, you will provide visible clinical and operational leadership, overseeing the day-to-day management of the department while supporting patients through essential admission and discharge processes. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to:
- Coordinate patient flow efficiently
- Maintain high standards of care
- Deliver exceptional patient experience
As Ward Sister, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading by example, instilling trust and adaptability in your team
- Supporting and developing staff to enhance delivery
- Driving quality improvement initiatives
- Fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and compassion
- Ensuring elective patient pathways run smoothly and efficiently

Key Responsibilities
The Ward Sister will:
- Work closely with the Ward/Department Manager to ensure the highest standard of clinical care is provided
- Serve as a visible leader to patients, relatives, and staff, enhancing support, advice, and assistance
- Role model compassion in care, fostering a nurturing culture within the team
- Continuously improve patient care standards through direct experience feedback
- Actively promote patient safety, effective care, and positive experiences throughout the patient journey
Person Specification
We are looking for a dedicated nursing professional with:
