Witherby Publishing Group is a specialist publisher of marine training, reference and regulatory material for the shipping industry.

We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant to support our publishing warehouse and assist other office departments with ad hoc tasks. This is a full-time role based at our offices in Livingston.

Responsibilities

The Warehouse Assistant’s role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Shipping book orders, ensuring these are appropriately packed and labelled and stacked for delivery
  • Checking that the correct quantity and type of books have been received from the printer
  • Maintaining all relevant data in the warehouse management stock system
  • Storing delivered goods safely and logging their arrival
  • Relocating and re-stacking goods to make space for new deliveries
  • Recording any damaged, missing or faulty books
  • Ensuring that the warehouse and picking areas are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Observing all Health & Safety standards in line with Company policy
  • Ordering shipping material/packaging
  • Assist with stock counts during the year and at year end
  • Assist other office departments with administration and/or facilities tasks when required.

This role will report to the Warehouse and Facilities Manager.

Required Skills And Knowledge

  • Experience of working in a warehouse or office environment is desirable
  • Understanding of stock control is desirable
  • The ability to undertake forklift training and testing is required as forklift driving is part of this role
  • Manual handling experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • The ability to communicate effectively with all levels and departments within the organisation.

Salary And Conditions

  • Salary rate is Real Living Wage
  • This is an onsite based role
  • Normal place of work is Livingston, West Lothian
  • You will report to the Warehouse and Facilities Manager
