Warehouse Assistant - Casual
We are looking for a reliable and energetic Warehouse Assistant to join our Cambridge distribution centre on a casual basis.
In this role, you’ll co-ordinate and pack fresh produce orders for distribution to Hill Street stores. This is a predominantly Monday–Friday position with no weekend work*.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong attention to detail to ensure orders are accurate, produce quality is checked, and freight space is used efficiently.
- Good communication skills, with strong English literacy and numeracy.
- Energy, initiative, and a willingness to take direction.
- Ability to follow company procedures and regulations, particularly regarding food handling and workplace health and safety.
- Daytime availability on at least 3–4 days per week. Standard rosters are set based on your availability and operational requirements.
- A forklift licence is highly desirable and would qualify you at Level 2 under the relevant Award.
- Physical fitness and stamina to stand for long periods and safely handle manual tasks, including lifting items between 16–55kg in line with WorkSafe standards.

This role requires a high level of physical fitness and stamina, to enable you to stand for long periods and perform manual handling, bending and lifting/moving of items (from 16-55kg, in line with Australian Work Safe standards).

Pay Rates Are Set By The General Retail Industry Award. The 2026-27 Base Hourly Pay Rates For Level 1 Adults Are
Casual
- Weekdays: $34.76
- Saturday: $41.72
- Sunday: $48.67
Additional penalty rates apply to public holidays and some overtime and early morning shifts. Please view the full Award for all applicable rates and allowances.
