About the Role
The Warehouse Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring smooth preparation, dispatch, and maintenance of hire equipment. You’ll support Solotech’s operations by:
- Delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring timely and efficient equipment availability.
- Developing processes to improve team effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Helping to cover for other roles where needed—full training will be provided.
- Supporting cross-functional teams in handling administrative, logistical, and technical tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Duties
- Perform administrative tasks as required.
- Develop and enforce safe working practices (H&S compliance).
- Assemble, prepare, and de-prepare new and used equipment.
- Assist the asset management team in tracking stock and fulfilling requests.
- Facilitate the loading and unloading of courier and transport vehicles.
- Ensure equipment is packaged, documented, and delivered on time.
- Inspect equipment for any loss, damage, or anomalies, reporting promptly to managers.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and clutter-free warehouse.

Customer and Team Collaboration
- Liaise with third parties and customers, providing professional support aligned with Solotech’s standards.
- Clearly and effectively communicate (written/verbal) with internal teams and external contacts.
- Work collaboratively to develop strong relationships across departments.
Specialised Tasks
- Operate a forklift to load/unload vehicles (training provided if required).
- Execute ad-hoc operational tasks as directed.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong administrative skills (high attention to detail).
- Comfortable interacting with varied professional levels.
- Flexibility, multitasking ability, and calm under pressure (due to fast-paced demands).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to conduct work independently but proactively seek guidance when unsure.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Physical capability to safely handle and lift equipment within H&S guidelines.
- Capacity to work cohesively as a team member.

Desired Skills
- Knowledge of pro-audio equipment.
Other Mandatory Qualifications
- Full/clean driving license.
- Right to work and remain in the UK.
- Forklift license (training provided if required).
Education & Experience
- Minimum of GCSE level qualifications OR equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 1 year’s experience in a warehouse environment.
