Description
The Warehouse Assistant – Shipping will be responsible for handling inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring the smooth running of warehouse operations. You will play a key role in supporting logistics processes, shipping procedures, and applying warehouse best practices. This role is both operational and desk-based and requires confidence using computers.
Responsibilities
- Process incoming deliveries, check for accuracy, and store goods appropriately.
- Prepare and dispatch outgoing shipments, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Keep accurate records of stock levels, conduct regular stock checks, and report discrepancies.
- Pick orders for the production team as well as prepare orders for shipment, ensuring correct labelling and packaging to minimize damage during transit.
- Work closely with couriers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to coordinate shipments and deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment by following best practices and safety regulations.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and wrap machines safely and effectively.
- Ensure all shipments comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Perform other duties as required.

Skills & Experience Required

- Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or logistics role.
- Knowledge of shipping procedures, freight coordination, and warehouse operations.
- Ability to lift heavy goods and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Forklift certification (preferred but not essential).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
