Non Food Maintenance Assistant Team Manager – Roles Available

Salary: £40,000 up to £50,000 per annum Holiday: 30–35 days Benefits:

As a Non Food Maintenance Assistant Team Manager, you’ll keep our automated systems running smoothly. Your work will be crucial—ensuring warehouses operate at peak efficiency while empowering your team to grow.

You’ll report to the Team Manager, supporting the operation of warehouse machinery and supervising your team of Warehouse Operatives, nurturing their skills and ensuring collective success.


Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Line-manage a team of Warehouse Operatives, providing coaching, training, and motivating support to help them succeed.
  • Technical Maintenance: Oversee and maintain automated systems, including sortation machinery, conveyors, and controllers, ensuring they remain operational.
  • Regular testing & diagnostics: Perform daily, weekly, monthly, 6-monthly, and yearly checks to guarantee top performance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify efficiencies and propose streamlined automation solutions.
  • Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety regulations, reporting any concerns to address them promptly.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work with on-call service providers and manage external maintenance tasks as required.
  • Resource Management: Oversee tools, spare parts, and inventories to ensure team access to essential resources.
  • Additional Support: Assiste with maintenance of non-automated systems (e.g., lifts, material handling equipment (MHE), and compressors).
  • Team Support & Compliance Reports: Assist with Head Office projects in operations and compliance, contributing to broader improvements.

Requirements

  • Leadership & Confidence: Exhibit innate leadership qualities to motivate and lead teams effectively.
  • Technical Experience: Proven expertise in automation systems, including sorters, conveyors, and controllers.
  • Proactive Improvement: Passionate about maintainability and continuous process improvement.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts and be on-call when needed.
  • Safety Focus: Unwavering commitment to meeting safety & compliance standards.
  • Strong Problem-Solver: Skilled at diagnosing and resolving technical and operational challenges.
  • Qualifications: Must have a relevant trade qualification along with two or more years of hands-on experience in a technical maintenance role.
