Job Summary
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role is to lead and coordinate day-to-day warehouse operations to ensure:
- Safe, efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials
- High standards of inventory accuracy, operational performance, and regulatory compliance
- Promotion of a strong safety culture
- Continuous improvement initiatives
As the Warehouse Team Leader, your leadership will ensure operational excellence, team development, and fireplace safety compliance—so we can help our customers and the planet thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate warehouse associates to achieve operational targets
- Allocate daily workloads and monitor performance against agreed standards
- Guide, coach, and support team members in their roles
- Manage shift planning and resource allocation to meet customer demand
- Oversee onboarding and training of new employees to maintain team skills capability
- Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative workplace culture
Inventory Management & Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock integrity in real time
- Oversee goods receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch activities
- Conduct regular cycle counts and stock audits, resolving discrepancies
- Utilise SAP and warehouse management systems to track and optimise inventory movement
- Implement and enforce inventory control processes to minimise losses, shortages, and excess stock
- Prepare and present inventory updates during weekly global inventory reviews

Warehouse Operations
- Coordinate daily activities to ensure efficient workflow and on-time order fulfilment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Logistics, Operations)
- Manage transport arrangements and UK/EU shipping documentation
- Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed
- Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate service
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with company health and safety policies and regulatory requirements
- Conduct routine safety checks and risk assessments, addressing hazards promptly
- Maintain accurate incident and near-miss records
- Enforce quality procedures and company standards
- Promote a proactive safety culture within the warehouse
Equipment & Facilities Management
- Monitor warehouse equipment condition and availability
- Arrange maintenance and repairs as required
- Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organised, and safe
- Report facility issues and support improvement initiatives
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare and communicate operational metrics and performance reports
- Provide actionable data for site/departmental meetings
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and supports implementation
- Contribute to broader operational and site-wide objectives
Qualifications & Experience
Required Experience & Knowledge
✔ Relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehousing (preferred) ✔ Demonstrated experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management (e.g., supervising teams, managing stock levels, or coordinating shipping/receiving) ✔ Experience in a supervisory or team lead role ✔ Practical knowledge of SAP or similar warehouse management systems ✔ Understanding of inventory control processes and warehouse best practices ✔ Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and compliance requirements ✔ Experience with export processes, customs documentation, and liaising with external bodies (e.g., relevant trade organisations) ✔ Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence ✔ Electric Pedestrian Truck Licence (or ability to obtain)

- Flexible shift work (rotational pattern) to support operational needs.
- Mobility required within facility and, occasionally, off-site visits.
