Warehouse Logistics Operative – Rugby, Warwickshire

As the third-largest group in the world for diesel and gas generators, we are seeking a Warehouse Logistics Operative to join our team in Rugby.


Role Purpose

The Warehouse & Logistics Operative ensures the safe, efficient, and accurate operation of our warehouse and logistics functions at the Rugby site.

This role involves:

  • Supporting the movement, storage, preparation, and dispatch of equipment, parts, and materials across the business.
  • Ensuring accurate handling and delivery of goods to meet operational and customer commitments.
  • Collaborating closely with Operations, Service, Parts, and Sales teams to maintain availability and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Upholding high standards of safety, organisation, and professionalism in warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

  • Receive, inspect, and assist with book-in of incoming goods and materials.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare equipment, parts, and consumables for dispatch.
  • Safely load and unload vehicles with efficiency.
  • Organise and maintain stored stock in designated locations while ensuring a clean, organised workspace.
  • Support equipment movements within warehouse and yard areas.
  • Enforce proper storage to prevent damage or loss, upholding 5S principles (tidiness, orderliness, cleanliness, standardisation).

Logistics Support

  • Coordinate customer deliveries and collections, including essential paperwork and shipping documentation.
  • Support transport planning and vehicle loading activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely dispatch of all products.
  • Liaise with transport providers and internal teams to maintain seamless logistics.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing deliveries for completeness and condition.

Inventory Control

  • Assist with stock counts and cycle counting.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and locations.
  • Promptly report any stock discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
  • Support housekeeping standards and inventory audits by maintaining system records.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of all stock movements.

Equipment Preparation

  • Assist with Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) activities for:
    • Power Generation Equipment
    • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
    • Tower Lights
    • Materials Handling Equipment (MHE)
  • Prepare equipment for dispatch by ensuring it is clean, organised, and presentable.
  • Support basic assembly tasks as required.

Essential Requirements

Skills & Experience

✅ Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or operational roles. ✅ Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. ✅ Ability to work safely and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs). ✅ Strong communication and teamwork skills. ✅ Flexibility to work independently or as part of a team. ✅ Basic IT literacy. ✅ Physical capability for warehouse duties (lifting, loading, etc.).

⚠ Mandatory Licence Requirement:

  • Forklift Truck Licence (valid Counterbalance and Reach certifications).

Desirable (but not mandatory)

🔹 Experience with ERP, warehouse management, or inventory systems. 🔹 Background in power generation, engineering, industrial equipment, or logistics. 🔹 Knowledge of stock control and inventory activities. 🔹 Aware of warehouse health and safety protocols and compliance.
