Warehouse Manager

Tangerine Group

Location: Boundary Road, Lytham

Hours: Full time – Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Up to £35,000 dependent on experience

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands on Warehouse Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our warehouse at Lytham. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of goods, ensuring stock accuracy, productivity targets and health & safety standards are consistently met.

This is a key operational role that combines people leadership, process control and continuous improvement, working closely with Production, Purchasing, Quality, Customer Services and Health & Safety.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Warehouse Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Warehouse Operations

  • Overseeing the accurate receipt, storage and dispatch of all goods in line with SOPs
  • Ensuring goods are checked against delivery notes, purchase orders and certificates of analysis
  • Maintaining full traceability through accurate booking-in and stock control systems
  • Managing FEFO stock rotation and proactively highlighting low or short-expiry stock

  • Ensuring orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and safely
  • Managing compliance with shelf-life requirements, pallet configurations and country-specific transport restrictions
  • Overseeing dispatch documentation, courier bookings and daily shipping manifests
  • Ensuring same-day despatch for direct orders received before 3pm
  • Liaising closely with Customer Services to meet daily dispatch deadlines

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Taking full responsibility for health and safety within the warehouse and yard
  • Ensuring compliance with HSG76 and all relevant legal requirements
  • Managing risk assessments, control measures and team training
  • Overseeing forklift, racking and workplace transport safety inspections and maintenance

Leadership & People Management

  • Leading and developing Warehouse Operatives through effective supervision, training and appraisals
  • Managing holiday planning, sickness cover and resourcing requirements
  • Ensuring training records and ongoing competency are maintained
  • Promoting a positive, safe and high-performance working culture

Continuous Improvement & Planning

  • Maintaining up-to-date warehouse SOPs and supporting wider operational improvements
  • Planning future warehouse capacity and availability in line with business needs
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy and safety
  • Ensuring warehouses remain clean, organised and audit-ready at all times

What We’re Looking For

Experience & skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar warehouse management or supervisory role
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations, stock control and dispatch processes
  • Good understanding of warehouse health and safety legislation
  • Strong organisational, time-management and IT skills
  • Excellent communication and people-management skills
