Warehouse Manager - Newhouse
- Salary: £60,000 to £75,000 plus benefits (Work Level 5)
- Location: Newhouse Depot, Motherwell, ML1 5GH
- Contract: 5 days over 7 (including weekend on-call rota, approximately 1 in 3 weekends)
About the Role
We seek a passionate Warehouse Manager to take charge at our Newhouse depot, where you’ll lead and inspire a team of over 500 colleagues. Your role involves ensuring a safe, efficient, and accountable operation while embodying our colleagues-first ethos.
As part of our Logistics Leadership team, you’ll collaborate with other depots to drive our future strategy, fostering a culture of inclusion—where colleagues feel heard, valued, and respected.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and manage 500+ depot team members to deliver efficient service levels to food stores
- Implement and oversee health and safety standards, mitigating risks across operations
- Hold accountability for the Newhouse warehouse’s people, safety, compliance, and equipment
- Manage an operational budget of up to £30 million, hitting established depot targets
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal partners, suppliers, and trade unions (USDAW) to ensure collaboration

Minimum Criteria & Requirements
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring large teams in a logistics or warehouse environment
- Track record of leading and successfully introducing change in a unionised setting (e.g., USDAW)
- Expertise in budget management and target-driven operational efficiency
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to inclusive and respectful influence
- Solid understanding of employment and safety legislation
