About the Role
Are you the senior decision-maker on shift? Are you responsible for managing risk, incidents, and seamless operations to meet service, safety, and financial targets? Do you have a proven track record of managing teams?
Here at GXO, we are looking for a resilient, proactive Warehouse Operations Controller for our Greene King contract based in Greenford. You will optimise daily shifts and confidently deputise for the Warehouse Operations Manager. If you bring strong people development skills, and a methodical approach to operational excellence, this is your opportunity to lead a high-performing team! You’ll be accountable for the safe, compliant and efficient running of all operational departments during their shift. This includes full responsibility for people, stock, equipment, security, health & safety, and service delivery across warehouse and wider site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall accountability for site operations during shift, including people, stock, equipment, and security
- Leadership and coordination of Warehouse Shift Managers to deliver agreed service levels and KPIs
- Control and oversight of stock from receipt through to dispatch, ensuring inventory accuracy and stock integrity
- Management of operational costs in line with agreed budgets, including labour, agency, and fleet utilisation
- Effective deployment of resource to meet volume, throughput, and service requirements

Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior visible operational leadership role within logistics, distribution, or a comparable environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead managers and large teams in a fast-paced, pressurised environment
- Strong knowledge of health & safety, food safety, security, and operational compliance requirements
- IOSH Managing Safely Qualification
Benefits
This is a permanent, full-time position, working Monday to Friday, rotating over 07:00-15:00, 08:00-16:00, and 10:00-18:00 shift. You’ll need to be flexible with shifts to ensure consistent site leadership cover, including occasional weekend on-call duties.

- We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £44,000.00 and 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays).
