Warehouse Operations Manager – Contract Logistics
Location: Ashby-de-la-Zouch Salary: £50,000 - £52,000
A fast-growing contract logistics business is seeking an experienced and driven Warehouse Operations Manager to lead a team at their Regional Distribution Site in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven leader to join a forward-thinking organisation and drive continued growth under the following responsibilities:
About the Role
Reporting to the senior leadership team, the Warehouse Operations Manager will oversee:
- Site-wide operations across warehousing & fulfilment, including cross-functional support for specialist teams
- Operational performance, safety, service quality, and profitability
- Team development and leadership during a key period of transition
- Process improvements and embedding operational best practice
- Alignment of site activity with the company’s overall business strategy

Responsibilities
- Lead warehouse & fulfilment operations, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Drive KPIs related to performance, safety, and profitability
- Develop and motivate a high-performing team, fostering talent growth and decision-making
- Implement and embed continuous improvement initiatives
- Foster strong stakeholder engagement, reporting to senior management
- Maintain regular communication with customers via updates and reports
Requirements
A successful candidate will have:
- Strong leadership experience in logistics & distribution
- 5+ years as a people manager, with a track record of:
- Developing talent
- Enhancing decision-making capability
- A commercial mindset with the ability to:
- Deliver cost efficiencies without compromising service quality
- Provide weekly invoicing updates and analyse operational cost drivers
- Proven success in:
- Scaling operations
- Leading change initiatives
- Strong people management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with:
- Senior managers
- Customers (via regular updates and reports)
