Role: Warehouse Operatives Location: Isabella Road, Workington Days: 2 days per week, Saturday and Sunday Shifts: 06:00-15:30 Salary: £13.00 p/h plus shift allowance - £30 per week
The Role: We are looking to recruit 3 x Warehouse Operatives to join our established operations team, based at our battery sorting facility in Workington. As part of ongoing growth and operational planning, we are looking to introduce an additional night shift, which will run Monday to Thursday. These roles will support the expansion of our current working hours and help meet increasing site demands.
The Business: Recycling Lives Services is not a typical recycling company. Since 2008, the business has been structurally built around social value, employing people from disadvantaged backgrounds, partnering with the justice system to reduce reoffending, and delivering environmental excellence at scale. The social mission is not a layer added on top of commercial activity. It is the reason the business operates in the way it does.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
