Warehouse Operative

Warehouse Operative – Walkers Site (SRDC/Leicester)

Position Summary

Salary: £34,727.27 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance)

Working Hours: 42 hours per week (including an 8-week rotational plan of 12-hour shifts, both day and night shifts).

Position Overview

PepsiCo is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our Walkers site in SRDC-Leicester. In this role, applicants will support the handling, loading, and movement of goods to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.


Responsibilities

** Core Tasks:**

  • Ensure accurate picking, loading, and tipping of goods for customer orders using Ride-on Pallet Trucks (RDTs).
  • Support ad-hoc movements in the warehouse using the Mini-mover as and when necessary.
  • Conduct accurate stock counts/sweeps when required and process returns and low-code stock.
  • Meet and exceed personal and team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Maintain stock accuracy, including pallets, resolving variances timely and identifying issues.

** Warehouse Operations:**

  • Deliver high-level customer service with strict adherence to KPI targets, including volume-fill, timeliness, and failure resolution standards.
  • Contribute positively to site safety initiatives, meeting safety standards, conducting safety tours, crafting initiatives, and addressing health and safety audits.
  • Co-operate in maintaining BRC (British Retail Consortium) and expectations (audits, standards, maintenance, and compliance inputs).
  • Active participation in SRDC Lean initiatives, ensuring efficiency and process improvement.

** For Advanced Skilled Workers:**

  • Master special pick tasks and deliver precise execution.
  • Utilise Forklift trucks to support loading/unloading and other warehouse operations.
  • Support all stages across Goods In Areas, including ‘Green Goods-in’ tasks.
  • Contribute to Orange-badge tasks associated with supply chain control measures.
  • Cover warehouse operations support roles as required.
  • Conduct limited shunting (premium pay applies).
  • Provide team/colleague training on essential warehouse procedures.

Requirements

To apply, the role requires:

  • British driving licence (if not possessed, training/flooring scenarios may apply).
  • A strong work ethic with excellent reliability and flexibility in an intricate logistical environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to make prompt data-based decisions within established guidelines.
  • Homegrown PC knowledge (advantageous but not mandatory).
  • Interpersonal skills to support a team-driven culture.
  • Motivation for growth and ability to thrive with limited/operational supervision.
