Warehouse Operative – Job Description

About the Role

As our new Warehouse Operative, you will work within the warehouse to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of goods across the business. Using counterbalance and VNA forklift trucks, you will handle both finished goods and raw materials, supporting day-to-day operations while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse, ensuring full compliance with HSE legislation and company procedures
  • Receive, inspect, store, and dispatch goods, including vehicle loading/unloading in line with SOPs
  • Operate counterbalance and VNA forklift trucks safely and in accordance with company policy
  • Maintain accurate stock control, including system transactions, documentation, and stock-taking activities
  • Prepare, pack, and despatch finished goods while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and teamwork

Essential Requirements

  • Strong communication skills with a solid understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH requirements
  • Valid counterbalance and VNA forklift licenses
  • Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, including managing deliveries and dispatch
  • Ability to work to high standards, adapt to changing priorities, and perform effectively as part of a team
  • Reliable, flexible, and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing demands
