Join our Team as a Warehouse Operative (7 Month FTC) at Aspire Defence Services Limited (ADSL)

Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, no weekends
Location: Bulford Stores, Wiltshire

Are you ready to join a dynamic team where innovation thrives? Aspire Defence Services Limited (ADSL) is seeking a passionate and results-driven Warehouse Operative (7 Month FTC) to be part of our exciting journey. In this role, you will provide comprehensive stores support across Tidworth and Bulford Estates, ensuring the smooth supply of materials and equipment to maintenance teams, supporting the delivery of services in line with contractual response times.

Your Role:

  • You will be responsible for operating an estates store, ensuring a smooth and efficient supply of parts, equipment, furniture, and fittings to maintenance teams in line with contractual response times.
  • You will be acting as a key point of contact, communicating effectively with maintenance teams and resolving queries promptly.
  • You will be responsible for purchasing, stock replenishment, and maintaining accurate inventory records, including regular stock takes.
  • You will be ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including the management of hazardous substances and adherence to risk assessments.
  • You will be handling goods in, storage, and picking of items, ensuring accuracy, quality control, and safe working practices at all times.
  • You will be maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant working environment while completing documentation, audits, and reporting incidents as required.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • You will have GCSEs in Maths and English and hold a full, clean UK driving licence, supporting your ability to carry out the role effectively.

Experience:

  • You will have experience within a maintenance or logistics environment, with a good understanding of inventory control, stock procedures, administrative processes, and health and safety practices, alongside strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Skills:

  • You will demonstrate strong attention to detail, accuracy in handling stock, and the ability to interpret product codes, alongside effective teamwork, organisation, adaptability, and the ability to work independently while following procedures.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • You will have experience working within a maintenance or logistics setting, supported by a sound understanding of warehousing operations, stock control procedures, and administrative tasks. You will also have a basic understanding of health and safety requirements and be confident in using Microsoft Office applications to support your work.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Distribution, Storehouse and Warehouse Operations or equivalent.
  • IOSH Working Safely certification.
  • Experience in a customer service environment or within a stores, logistics, or military-related setting.
  • Working knowledge of IFS systems.

Skills:

  • Ability to carry out manual handling tasks safely and effectively.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when picking and managing stock.
  • Strong ability to recognise and interpret alphanumeric product codes.
  • Effective team working skills with the ability to prioritise workload and support others.
  • Flexible approach with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow documented procedures.
