Warehouse Operative

Location: Nantwich

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor


A Day in the Life of a Warehouse Operative

Operate lift trucks across all areas of the warehouse and site to ensure timely control, movement and accounting of raw materials and finished goods, meeting distribution and delivery requirements while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Assist in business projects and change initiatives to promote operational excellence in warehousing and supply chain.
  • Contribute to enhancing warehouse efficiency through cross-functional teamwork, performance improvement initiatives, and process development.
  • Embrace a "safety first" mindset, with full responsibility for health & safety reporting and compliance, addressing risks and issues promptly.
  • Execute all warehousing tasks in accordance with instructions, ensuring smooth transition of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods while maintaining:
    • Product quality
    • Food safety
    • Health and safety policies and procedures
  • Operate warehousing stock transactions using M3 in line with current procedures.
  • Pick finished goods for dispatch as per procedures, ensuring:
    • All documentation is correct
    • Vehicles are inspected
    • Quality checks are completed
  • Identify and relocate pallets to ensure they are:
    • Clean
    • Safe
    • Available for distribution needs
  • Support stock control and audits to meet warehousing reporting requirements.
  • Identify and report any issues affecting:
    • Quality
    • Safety (employees, processes, and food)
    • Standards and propose continuous improvements.

What We Expect From You

  • Knowledge of health & safety, food hygiene, and environmental standards
  • Forklift truck (FLT) licence
  • Experience in a fast-paced retail wholesale warehouse
  • Inventory management principles and processes
  • Experience using M3 software
