GWA Group Warehouse Distribution Assistant

Based and working within a busy warehouse environment, supporting the distribution team in all functions from assembly, packaging, stock control, and dispatching with the end purpose of all customer orders are fulfilled and delivered accurately on time.

Tasks

  • Picking & Packing
  • Production / Rework of products
  • Adhere to customer specific requirements
  • Cover Dispatch

Desirable Experience, Skills, and Behaviours

  • Knowledge of outbound processes
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Ability to type well
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures
  • Knowledge of working with products
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving with a good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adaptable with a good level of stress tolerance

Health & Safety

All staff must be conversant with the safety rules and regulations and they must take reasonable steps to ensure their own health and safety and that of anyone else who may be affected by their actions. They should inform their manager/supervisor of any hazard with which they are not trained to deal with.

When the fire alarm sounds, you have responsibility to help others in the area you are working. Direct people to come with you as you leave by the nearest exit and to ensure that they and others move away from the building.

All staff are responsible for following rules and procedures designed to protect the environment. They should:

  • Reports any spills immediately.
  • Clean it up if it is safe to do so or in the case of chemicals let spillage training personnel deal with it.
  • Follow procedures for reusing and/or recycling wood, paper, cardboard, plastic etc.
  • Turn off heating, cooking, lighting, air con appliances etc, when not necessary
  • Report any incident of airborne, water or land contamination

In addition to this you will also be responsible for:

  • Maintain a safe & clean work area
  • Adhere to Health & Safety standards
  • Work toward and within ISO9002 & ISO14001 standards
  • Work within Company Policies
  • Support all reasonable Operational / business needs requested by Management / delegated custodian
