Warehouse Operative – Gateshead
Turntide Technologies designs and manufactures best-in-class electric motors, power electronics, energy storage, and thermal equipment for all things that move.

Turntide Technologies operates in North America, Canada, the UK, and India, serving customers across industries including off-highway automotive, commercial vehicles, rail, marine, light vehicles, commercial buildings, and premium automotive.
This Warehouse Operative role is based primarily at our Gateshead site, with potential travel to our Cramlington location. The role reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.
About the Role
The Warehouse Operative will undertake warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, dispatching, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
You will need to:
- Adhere to health and safety standards in a dynamic warehouse environment.
- Operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet trucks, and other stock-review tools.
- Meet tight deadlines and operate efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Training & Compliance
- Attend daily start-of-shift warehouse meetings.
- Conduct safety checks on all material-handling equipment.
- Maintain compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental policies.
- Report any H&S concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Inventory & Receiving
- Receive deliveries, check in stock via the Company ERP system, and locate goods into assigned storage locations.
- Perform daily stock checks and assist with cycle counting, including end-of-year financial stock checks.
- Identify and report any damage, delivery faults, or paperwork errors.

Warehouse Operations
- Pick and kit product/parts for production using the Company WMS.
- Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and other equipment in accordance with safety regulations.
- Load/unload goods onto vehicles using FLT (forklift trucks) when required.

Packing & Dispatch
- Prepare and dispatch orders accurately while maintaining inventory records.
- Ensure packaging compliance; finished goods must arrive safe and in quality-checked condition.

Sustainability & Organisation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment in line with 5S standards.
- Support production needs (holiday cover/sickness substitute where required).

Teamwork & Problem Solving
- Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure on-time customer collections.
- Adopt a flexible approach to tight deadlines—occasional short-notice overtime may be required.
Requirements
Candidates must have:
✔ Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment. ✔ Hands-on experience with picking, packing, loading, and unloading goods. ✔ Knowledge of stock control and inventory management processes. ✔ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. ✔ Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere. ✔ Physical readiness (e.g., lifting goods, operating machinery). ✔ Basic numeracy/literacy skills and ability to follow instructions. ✔ Proficiency in teamwork and communication. ✔ Reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic. ✔ Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Bonus Factors
🔹 Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). 🔹 Familiarity with 5S warehouse standards.
Qualifications

Proof of recognised proficiency in:
- English Literature
- English Language
- Maths (Experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.)

A valid countersbalance forklift license (FLT).

A full driving licence (not mandatory but beneficial).
