Our Distribution team is now looking for Warehouse Operatives

Our Distribution team is now looking for Warehouse Operatives to join us at our Thatcham site for the high season during the summer peak. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a collaborative and fast-paced environment where you will help bring the magic of Harrods to life for our customers. These temporary roles will run for two months between the end of May to the end of July.

About the Role

In this role, you will play an essential part in the daily operations of our Distribution Centre. There are multiple roles available, including Warehouse Operatives across different departments and Site Services Operatives. Roles will be allocated based on your interests and the best fit. You will ensure high standards and efficiencies are maintained as the volume of stock moving in and out of the warehouse increases. Some roles have more of an administrative focus, while others are more physical.

Your key responsibilities, depending on the role, will include:

Warehouse Operative

  • Receiving, checking, sorting, and relocating stock using manual and mechanical methods.
  • Picking, packing, and dispatching orders accurately while operating warehouse equipment safely.
  • Performing stock checks and maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Site Services

  • Supporting the recycling programme by sorting and processing waste.
  • Handling pallets, including unloading, stacking, repairing, and loading onto trailers.
  • Maintaining warehouse and yard cleanliness using appropriate equipment.

All roles are based at our Distribution Centre, a modern, clean, and welcoming facility designed to support an efficient and collaborative working environment. Many of these roles are hands-on and physically active, involving standing, walking long distances, and safely lifting and moving products up to 23 kg. On average, you will complete around 20,000 steps a day.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
