Warehouse Operative – Full Job Description
U Value Insulation are one of Ireland's leading family-owned distributors of building materials, specialising in insulation and drywall products, serving both the Irish and UK markets. With over forty years of experience, we pride ourselves on partnering with some of the largest construction firms in the region.
About the Role
As a Warehouse Operative, you will be a vital part of our fast-growing team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Based in Heywood, Manchester (UK).
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
- Picking, packing, and preparing goods for dispatch
- Assisting with general warehouse duties, including offloading supplier goods
- Maintaining accurate stock control
- Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, particularly regarding health & safety
- Keeping the warehouse clean, organised, and running efficiently
- Contributing to a collaborative, motivated team environment

Requirements
To excel in this role, we’re looking for:
- Previous experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (license or certification preferred)
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong reliability
- Good attention to detail for accuracy in stock management
- A positive attitude with ambition to grow within the company
- A distinct advantage if you already hold a shunting license (though training can be provided if required)
- Experience in a busy warehouse/yard environment is beneficial
