Experienced Warehouse Operative - Basildon

In our relatively short time in the UK we have enjoyed remarkable success and as we strengthen our service offering we have recently acquired a 2,000+ sqm warehouse site at our Basildon branch.

We are now recruiting for experienced Warehouse Operatives to join our growing team! This opportunity is will best suit a reliable, hardworking, warehouse operative that is looking to advance their warehouse skills/knowledge and be recognised for their business contribution.

For over 40 years, we have served our clients with our Air, Ocean, Road, and Warehousing portfolio and we have enjoyed another very successful year at cargo-partner having strengthened our global position by joining the Nippon Express Group.

As we invest in our warehouse/overland product across Western Europe now is a great time to help us write our success story here in the UK.

What you will do:

  • Perform pick and pack activities
  • Loading and unloading trailers/containers
  • Using and maintaining WMS
  • Interact with drivers and customers, handle problems and report customer concerns immediately
  • Be an advocate for all company health and safety policies & accident processes
  • Contributes ideas on ways to reduce warehouse costs and increase productivity
  • Maintains a safe, clean working environment
  • Participates in quality improvement efforts
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Desired skills/experience:

  • Good written & oral communication skills
  • Counter balance/VNA certification (within 3 year ideally) however open to training
  • Familiarity of shipping practices and handling methods
  • Employee is frequently required to walk, or stand long periods and must be able to lift
  • Ability to type and operate a computer along with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, along with managing daily emails
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow and meet daily deadlines
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • At least 1 year warehouse experience
  • Experience with AS400 system is a plus
