Warehouse Operative
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our dedicated hire operations team. This role focuses on the preparation of hire equipment for dispatch, including the fitting of relevant accessories and part-building of kits to customer specifications.
As a key member of the warehouse team, you'll ensure all items are ready for delivery in excellent condition and meet operational and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare hire equipment for dispatch by checking condition, cleanliness, and functionality.
- Fit required accessories and components to main units according to job or customer requirements.
- Assemble part-build kits (where applicable), ensuring all components are included and secured.
- Accurately pick and pack hire orders based on dispatch notes or system-generated lists.
- Perform quality checks on all outgoing items to ensure they are safe, clean, and ready for immediate use.
- Communicate with the hire desk, drivers, and other warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate dispatch.
- Label equipment and complete relevant paperwork or system entries.
- Maintain a tidy, organised, and safe working area.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and contribute to a positive safety culture.
- Assist in general warehouse duties when required, including goods-in and stock rotation.

Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience is essential.
- Supervisory experience at the level of supervisor/team leader is an advantage and desired.
- Existing forklift truck qualifications are an advantage, but training will be provided.
- IOSCM or other equivalent warehouse/supply chain/logistics qualifications desired but not essential.
- Ability to communicate with other departments and team members via email/Teams/calls, etc.
- Ability to prioritise workloads to ensure targets are met.
