Stock Controller - Lely Centre Yeovil
(Full-Time / Temporary to Cover Maternity Leave)
The successful candidate will be responsible for a vital part of the supply chain, managing processes and systems to ensure parts are received and dispatched appropriately, while meeting productivity targets.
About the Role
The Stock Controller oversees the smooth running of warehouse and stores operations, ensuring efficient handling of inventory, orders, and logistics. This role is based at the Lely Centre Yeovil, Somerset.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains warehouse and stores operations, including:
- Picking, packing, and dispatching parts/goods
- Processing incoming/outgoing orders
- Administering stock control (stock items, PPE, consumables)
- Operating IT systems (e.g., inventory management)
- Ensures delivery deadlines are met through effective order tracking
- Handles customer inquiries, takes orders, and manages parts-related communications
- Ensures compliance with health and safety legislation
- Supervises daily operations, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, shipping, cleanliness, and customer service
- Conducts daily forklift checks (or attains licence within role)
- Oversees logistics to ensure efficient transport of parts to customers, collaborating with engineers
- Attends managerial meetings and general housekeeping duties (e.g., bin emptying)
- Undertakes any additional duties as required

Requirements
Essential:
- Experience in a similar stock control, warehouse, or logistics position, preferably in engineering/agricultural sectors
- Proven ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and multitask independently
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (written/oral feedback, supplier/customer interactions)
- Full UK driving licence, with ability to commute independently
- Competent computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence (or willingness to obtain this)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with all levels of staff

- Familiarity with milk-farming industry or mechanical engineering
