Part-Time Warehouse Operative – Newcastle Service Centre

Job Details
- Working hours: 5 hours per week
- Shift pattern: Sunday 08:00–13:00
- Salary: £12.96 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible Warehouse Operative to join our fast-paced pharmaceutical supply chain team at our Service Centre in Newcastle. As a key player in serving millions of patients across the UK, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the medical supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Replenish the Automat System
- Pick and pack orders on the manual picking belt, bulk, fridge, and secure areas
- Carry out roles within transport and route completed orders to their destinations
Additional technical requirements include:
- Operational proficiency in warehouse systems for status updates, tracking, and transaction processing.
- Ability to identify operational issues, analyse basic data, and support resolution.
- Maintenance of accurate operational records.
- Clear communication with both internal and external stakeholders regarding operational matters of moderate importance.

Requirements
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong visual accuracy, numeracy, and communication skills
- Commitment to maintaining hazard-free and high safety standards
- Basic understanding required:
- Pharmaceutical distribution logistics
- Warehouse operations (receiving, storage, order preparation, shipment processing)
- Inventory and material handling
- Standing and walking for long periods
- Manual handling activities under Health and Safety regulations
Physical Requirements – Safety Note
Applicants must be capable of performing these duties without assistance to comply with operational standards. Pre-existing conditions that would impede manual handling should be noted in the application and disclosed at interview.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required
- 2+ years of experience in:
- Warehouse support
- Distribution operations
- Shipping, receiving, or inventory control
- Material handling, or related experience
- Preferred Certification: Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or similar
