About the Role
We're looking for Warehouse Operative (Technical) to join Foxway and become part of a team that gives technology a second life.
As a Warehouse Operative (Technical), you’ll play a key role in our sustainability mission by testing, grading, and processing used IT equipment, typically 3–5 years old. You’ll work with a variety of devices including laptops, desktops, mobile phones, tablets, and Apple products, ensuring they are ready for reuse in a secure and efficient way.
No prior technical experience? No problem. We provide full training—what matters most is your interest in technology and willingness to learn.
📍 Location: Braintree, Essex
What will you do?
- Test and process a wide range of IT equipment (laptops, desktops, mobiles, tablets, Apple devices, and more)
- Accurately record device specifications, condition, and key data in our inventory system
- Perform secure data erasure following strict processes and controls
- Work towards daily production targets, balancing quality and efficiency
- Identify faults and take a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Contribute ideas to improve processes and ways of working
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Support other operational areas when needed to achieve team goals
Who we are looking for?
You’ll be trained to identify brands, models, and serial numbers, match items to job records, and create accurate testing and data-erasure documentation.

Must have:
- Comfortable using Windows and performing accurate data entry
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
- Ability to follow processes and instructions consistently
- Positive, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a target-driven environment
- Able to drive or live locally in Braintree due to shift patterns
Nice to have:
- Experience in IT, refurbishment, warehouse, or production environments
- Familiarity with device testing, diagnostics, or grading
- Experience with data-erasure tools (training provided if not)
- Technical certifications
Education / Experience:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) preferred
- IT/technical certifications are a plus
- Previous experience in IT, production, or operations is beneficial but not essential
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 25kg unassisted
- Comfortable with bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, sitting, and standing as required

Working in shifts
A structured three-week rolling rota designed to support work-life balance:
- Week 1–3: Monday–Wednesday
- Week 4–6: Thursday–Saturday
The role operates on three 12-hour shifts per week (06:00–19:00), including a 1-hour unpaid break, totalling 36 hours per week.
A full-year rota is provided in advance for predictability and planning.

Foxway’s Recommerce Computers & Enterprise (C&E) focuses on sustainable tech management by the refurbishment and resale of used computer equipment, addressing both environmental and market demand.
