Warehouse Operator

At Baker Hughes, our Supply Chain and Logistics teams play a critical role in ensuring the right materials are available at the right time. Working closely with Manufacturing, Workshop, and Project teams, we support operational success through efficient warehouse management, inventory control, and customer-focused service.

As a Warehouse Operator, you will be responsible for supporting warehouse operations in a team-based environment. You will perform a variety of activities including receiving inventory, picking and packing orders, supporting production requirements, and preparing shipments for domestic and international customers. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse while ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.
As a Warehouse Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting HSE and Quality Standards: Following and supporting business Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Quality policies while maintaining compliance with applicable ISO standards and safe working practices.
- Promoting a Safe Working Environment: Being actively involved in reporting HSE and Quality incidents, including stop-work actions and follow-up investigations where required.
- Managing Inventory Activities: Picking inventory items to support internal and external customer orders while maintaining stock accuracy and resolving inventory discrepancies when necessary.
- Preparing Customer Shipments: Packing customer orders for domestic and international air, ground, and ocean transportation in accordance with shipping requirements.
- Supporting On-Time Delivery: Ensuring all available customer orders are processed and shipped on a daily basis to meet operational and customer commitments.
- Maintaining Warehouse Equipment: Completing daily inspections and checks on forklifts and other warehouse equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Maintaining Housekeeping Standards: Ensuring the warehouse is maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times.
- Collaborating with Internal Stakeholders: Working closely with Workshop, Projects, and Planning teams to meet customer demand and support business objectives.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have experience working in a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards.
- Have experience handling inventory, stock control, receiving, picking, packing, and shipping activities.
- Be able to work effectively within a team environment while supporting shared goals and objectives.
- Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing inventory and customer orders.
- Be capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Demonstrate good communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional teams.
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing operational requirements, schedules, staffing, and workloads.

Preferred Characteristics
- Forklift operating experience and relevant certifications (where applicable).
- Experience working with warehouse management systems and inventory control processes.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping requirements.
- Experience working within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
