Role Description

As a key part of the Purchasing and Supply Chain team of BYK Widnes, the role reports to the Purchasing and Supply Chain Deputy Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Working integrally with other members of the Purchasing and Supply Chain team, the role is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the warehouse function, delivering performance to agreed procedures and standards, suggesting, and implementing improvements as necessary to address the changing nature of the business and its environment.
  • Living the ALTANA values of Openness, Trust, Appreciation, and Empowerment to Act every day.
  • Controls and executes tasks, provides support for other tasks within Widnes site Warehouse operations under the supervision of the warehouse supervisor.
  • Supports overall operating excellence by controlling cost, operating efficiency, and working to department service levels.
  • Effective implementation of site Warehouse processes.
  • Adhere to Safety and Environment Regulations.
  • Quality conformance in all activities - weight, appearance, etc.
  • Maximise Equipment Utilisation.
  • Achievement of schedules set out in the resource plan for the area.
  • Accurate plant and SAP records.
  • Housekeeping standards – 5S/Area audits.

Requirements

  • Experience in warehouse operation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and ambition to be part of a successful team.
  • Results-focused.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of using SAP.
  • A flexible approach to work in line with business requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills including fluency in English (both written and oral).
  • FLT counterbalance and High Reach Truck licence.
