The Opportunity
We're looking for a Warehouse Section Leader to join our Hemel Hempstead (Maylands) team.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take ownership of a warehouse operation, leading your team to deliver outstanding service while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and productivity.
Working closely with the Shift Manager, you'll be responsible for creating a positive team culture, coaching colleagues to succeed and ensuring your area operates efficiently throughout every shift.
Role Details
- Salary: up to £35,500 per annum
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Working Pattern: Days – 4 on 4 off
- Working Hours: 6:00am – 6:00pm
- Location: Hemel Hempstead (Maylands)
What You'll Be Doing
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Leading a team within your designated warehouse area, ensuring daily operational plans are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Providing clear direction, coaching and regular feedback to colleagues to support performance and development.
- Creating a positive, inclusive working environment where colleagues feel supported, motivated and able to perform at their best.
- Monitoring operational performance and delivering key service, productivity and quality KPIs.
- Supporting the induction of new colleagues and ensuring mandatory operational and legal training is completed.
- Conducting Return to Work interviews and supporting colleague wellbeing through proactive people management.
- Promoting a strong safety culture by identifying risks, resolving issues and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Responding quickly to operational challenges, making decisions that keep the operation running smoothly.
- Encouraging continuous improvement by listening to colleague feedback and implementing practical ideas that improve performance.
- Working collaboratively with other operational teams to ensure excellent customer service and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys leading people in a fast-paced warehouse environment and takes pride in delivering high operational standards.
Your Skills And Experience Will Include
- Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory, team leader or section leader role.
- Experience leading and motivating operational teams within a busy warehouse or logistics environment.
- The ability to coach colleagues, provide constructive feedback and build high-performing teams.
- Strong communication and organisation skills with the confidence to make decisions under pressure.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and operational KPIs.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar operational systems.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and customer service.
