Join Our Team as a Warehouse Senior Operative!

Position Details

  • Location: To be based at our Head Office - CVS House, Owen Road, Diss, Norfolk, United Kingdom, IP22 4ER
  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
  • Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 12:30pm – 9pm including some weekend availability

Role Overview

The Warehouse Senior Operative plays a vital role in ensuring day-to-day operational excellence within the warehouse. This position requires a highly motivated individual with substantial experience in order dispatching. Accuracy and efficiency are paramount, as is the ability to resolve issues promptly.

About The Role

  • Support Daily Operations: Assist in the daily management of warehouse operations, ensuring all processes are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Deputise Leadership: Step in for the Warehouse Supervisor during absences and annual leave, as directed by the Operations Manager and business needs.
  • Adhere to Structure: Ensure strict adherence to the approved departmental organisational structure, maintaining compliance with reporting lines and assigned responsibilities.
  • Enhance Efficiency: Propose and implement strategies for improving warehouse efficiency and productivity, in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
  • Meet Operating Metrics: Ensure all company operating metrics within the warehouse are consistently achieved.
  • Coordinate Fulfilment: Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure all orders are fulfilled and teams meet expected results.
  • Goods Management: Ensure the accurate receipt and storage of all goods in line with GDP requirements.
  • Drive Process Improvements: Identify inefficiencies and develop strategies for continuous improvement and cost savings, in agreement with the Operations Manager.
  • Track Stock Movement: Monitor and understand stock movement data across various systems from start to finish.
  • Support Systems and Compliance: Assist in supporting JDA systems, processes, controls, and reporting, ensuring full compliance with GDP regulations for pharmaceutical products.
  • Resolve Issues: Address and resolve any delivery discrepancies, customer complaints, and logistical challenges effectively.
  • Compliance and Health & Safety: Perform various compliance, health, safety, and QAA tasks as required by the Operations Manager/QAA.

Who We're Looking For

  • Proven track record in a high-volume, target-oriented warehouse or logistics environment, demonstrating the ability to enhance team performance and growth through strong decision-making and meticulous attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Expertise in managing resources and fostering continuous improvement
  • Adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies
  • Exceptional skills in communication, analysis, numerical reasoning, and organisation
  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal abilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, dispatch, and goods receipt processes
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • A collaborative team player who can also take initiative when necessary
  • Extensive experience using Warehouse Management Systems
