About the Role

DHL Supply Chain isn’t just about delivering parcels—it’s about keeping the UK’s supply chain moving. This Warehouse Shift Manager will lead a high-performing team across a fast-paced, time-critical warehouse environment, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and a swiftly growing retail logistics operation.

As the face of operations for each shift, you’ll drive productivity, staff performance, and health & safety while maintaining the highest operational standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership

    • Initiate, monitor, and report on warehousing activities and staff performance in your shift.
    • Ensure deadlines are met safely while maintaining excellence in customer-focused operations.
    • Communicate job expectations to direct team members and align KPIs with operational goals.
  • Team Management & Development

    • Lead, motivate, and develop shift teams, fostering a high-performing, safety-focused culture.
    • Recognise and reward outstanding performance contributions.

  • Health & Safety

    • Hold primary responsibility for health and safety across your operation, embedding a ‘Safety First’ mind-set.
    • Ensure all staff operate safely at all times, aligning with company WHS requirements.
  • Process Improvements

    • Drive a continuous improvement programme to enhance efficiency and working practices.
    • Monitor and analyse key performance metrics, addressing bottlenecks and driving growth.

Conditions of Employment

  • Pay: £37,000.00 per annum (Assistant/Team Manager pay band depending on experience).
  • Contract: Permanent (Full-Time) role.
  • Location: Skelmersdale warehouse hub.
  • Shift: 4x on, 4x off (13:00 – 00:30 daily).

Roles Requires

✅ Proven leadership in a warehouse environment, ideally within e-commerce or high-volume operations. ✅ Experience managing next-day order fulfilment or managing similarly critical supply chain operations. ✅ Demonstrated ability to foster strong stakeholder relationships in a dynamic environment. ✅ Strong command of Microsoft Office and familiarity with warehouse management systems.

Desirable: 🔹 Experience in retail, fashion, or e-commerce logistics. 🔹 Knowledge of data analytics or KPI tracking within warehouse operations.
