Warehouse Shift Supervisor

The Role

Providing vital support to our e‑fulfilment operations for a recognised industry brand. This site handles the distribution of beers, wines, and spirits, operating within a dynamic warehouse environment.

As Warehouse Shift Supervisor, you’ll partner with Shift Managers to deliver operational excellence. This includes ensuring:

  • All service and cost targets are consistently met or exceeded
  • Full adherence to Health & Safety policies
  • Highest standards of housekeeping and operational efficiency
  • Temporary deputising for Shift Managers when required

Key Responsibilities

When assisting the Shift Manager, you will:

  • Supervise daily operations to guarantee smooth warehouse workflows
  • Coordinate & escalate issues within the team, resolving or flagging for further action
  • Schedule & oversee team activities to maintain punctuality and productivity
  • Optimal performance management through records, feedback & performance tracking
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance, including training, awareness, and workplace standards
  • Promote staff development, evaluating training effectiveness and offering feedback
  • Resolve & improve workflows by actively seeking process optimisations
  • Monitor absence and cover arrangements, addressing unplanned downtime
  • Engage with Operations Controllers to guarantee 100% customer satisfaction
  • Actively contribute to management-деcisions for efficiency, team ethos, and problem-solving

Salary & Hours

  • Up to £35,622 per annum + £2,000 night premium (DOE)
  • Shift pattern: 4 nights on, 4 nights off – 18:00 to 06:00

Requirements

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Previous warehouse experience, with a focus in Team Leader or Supervisory roles
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices in distribution settings
  • Attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Time management & problem-solving expertise
  • Proficient in PC literacy, with experience using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to delegately, mentor, and keep a team motivated towards goals
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • PC literate (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
