Warehouse Supervisor – Sunderland

Position: Warehouse Supervisor

Location: Sunderland

Contract Type: Permanent

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

Customer-focused representation:

  • Represent the company in a professional, positive, and customer-focused manner.

Warehouse operations:

  • Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant warehouse operations, aligned with HSE standards.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of goods.
  • Drive zero tolerance for quality deviations to meet customer deliverables.

Inventory management:

  • Maintain accurate inventories through physical counts and system reconciliation.
  • Ensure accuracy of all goods-in/goods-out documentation and stock labelling.

Technical oversight:

  • Oversee warehouse IT, WMS (Warehouse Management System), and automated systems for accuracy and up-to-date functionality.

Operational improvement:

  • Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization; conduct future capacity planning.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process and system improvements.
  • Reduce waste, drive continuous improvement, and foster cost reduction and efficiency.

Operational excellence:

  • Maintain best-practice logistics standards, policies, and procedures.

Leadership and team development:

  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff and team leaders to meet KPIs and deadlines.
  • Monitor and manage time and attendance for the materials team.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Technical & logistical:

  • Strong knowledge of logistics KPIs.
  • Hands-on experience working with WMS, ERP, and MRP systems.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, including Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, PDCA, and Gemba.

Software & technical skills:

  • Strong skills with Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred experience:

  • MRP systems expertise, ideally with AS400 or BPCS.
