Warehouse Supervisor

David Watson Transport Ltd – Earls Colne, Essex

Full-Time | Permanent

Pay: £32,000.00-£34,000.00 per year

David Watson Transport is one of the UK's leading specialist transport and lifting companies, providing transport, HIAB and logistics solutions nationwide. From our Earls Colne depot, we operate a warehouse facility that supports both our customers and wider transport operations. We are proud of our reputation for professionalism, safety and exceptional customer service.

We are looking for a reliable, organised and hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our warehouse and equipment store.

The Role

This is a varied and practical role that requires someone who can work independently, take ownership of warehouse operations and support the wider transport business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all goods in and goods out activities.
  • Stock control and inventory accuracy.
  • Organising and maintaining customer goods within the warehouse.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Preparing goods for collection and delivery.
  • Managing company equipment stock, issuing and returns.
  • Receiving and organising equipment deliveries and supplier orders.
  • Carrying out basic equipment assembly and minor repairs.
  • Conducting routine vehicle equipment checks and reporting defects.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organised warehouse and equipment store.
  • Working closely with drivers, planners and customers.
  • Completing warehouse administration and maintaining accurate records.

This position does not have direct line management responsibility but requires someone who can work on their own initiative and take ownership of the warehouse and equipment functions.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous warehouse or logistics experience.
  • Experience with goods in/goods out processes.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Desirable

  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
  • Reach Truck Licence.
  • Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.
  • Experience within the transport and logistics sector.
  • Knowledge of vehicle loading and load security.
  • Experience managing equipment, tooling or operational stock.
  • Ability to carry out basic equipment repairs and maintenance.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:30pm.
  • Flexibility is required to meet operational requirements.
  • Occasional weekend work may be required.
