Warehouse Supervisor - Glasgow Central Train Station

Warehouse Supervisor – Avanti Trains (Contract/Benefits-Converted to Permanent)

Optime Aviation Recruitment experts are excited to be recruiting Warehouse Supervisors in partnership with Avanti Trains.

This role offers fantastic hours, overtime opportunities, and fantastic company conditions—you’ll enjoy a key position ensuring catering and goods arrive on time for train passengers.


About the Role

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the logistics of catering and goods supply for Avanti trains, managing schedules and ensuring seamless operations within Glasgow Central Train Station.


What’s on Offer

  • Rate of Pay: £14.53 per hour
  • Location: Glasgow Central Train Station, G1 3SL
  • Temp to Perm: Performance-based pending requirements
  • Shift Pattern:
    • Rectangles indicate a compromise in reading, but the shifts are primarily 5-day weekly declarations (between 08:00am and 23:00pm, subject to availability).
    • Occasional night shifts (23:00pm–06:00am) may be required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage sickness and absence in line with DHL operational processes
  • Be accountable for the day-to-day running of the shift, ensuring smooth warehouse operations
  • Monitor KPIs and productivity rates, challenging outdated methods with a forward-thinking approach to improve efficiency
  • Lead and inspire a customer-focused team by showcasing company values as a role model
  • Align team training with documentation standards—ensuring all staff meet required proficiency levels
  • Maintain high hygiene standards as per operational directives
  • Develop talent—identify team strengths and potential for future opportunities
  • Conduct effective team communication, including shift updates, one-to-one meetings, and procedural briefings
  • Implore area improvements to optimise efficiency and generate cost savings
  • Ensure employee engagement through clear and consistent communication
