Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor (Manufacturing / Stores)
Location: Farnworth, Bolton, BL4 0AN
Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP32,000 per annum
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Working Hours: 38 hours per week: Mon to Thurs 07:30 to 16:00 and Friday 07:30 to 12:50
Based in Greater Manchester, Heatrod Elements are the UK's leading manufacturer of heating elements and associated process heating equipment required for industrial heating applications.
About The Role
We are looking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor to be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse and stores within a manufacturing environment. This includes supervising staff, managing inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels, maintaining safety standards, and supporting efficient material flow to meet production and customer requirements. As part of a small team this is a hands-on role so there will be some heavy lifting/carrying involved.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Team Management
- Lead, supervise, and motivate warehouse operatives and store personnel
- Allocate tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity targets are met
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback
Inventory and Stock Control
- Working with the Materials Manager manage inventory levels, stock accuracy, and cycle counts
- Ensure proper storage, labelling, and handling of materials
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies

Receiving and Dispatch
- Oversee goods:in and goods:out processes
- Ensure timely and accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams
Operational Efficiency
- Optimise warehouse layout and processes for efficiency
- Maintain accurate records using ERP/WMS systems
- Monitor KPIs such as order accuracy, picking rates, and inventory turnover
Health, Safety and Compliance
- Enforce health and safety policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with company standards and legal regulations
- Conduct safety checks, risk assessments, and incident reporting
Equipment and Facilities
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts)
- Report and manage maintenance issues
About You
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a warehouse or stores supervisory role (ideally within manufacturing)
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and warehouse processes
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems
- Good leadership and team management skills
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills

Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations (desirable)
- Forklift licence (preferred, depending on requirements)
- Health and Safety certification (e.g., IOSH/NEBOSH - preferred)
