Background

CyDen is a British health and beauty company known for developing and manufacturing Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) hair removal devices for home use. Our innovative electronic beauty products are globally distributed across household and medical markets under widely recognised brand names. CyDen offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a supportive and welcoming team culture. We're seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to join the Warehouse team.

The Role

The Warehouse Team Leader will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that all materials, components, and finished goods are received, stored, and dispatched accurately and efficiently. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will lead a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring that they meet performance targets related to safety, accuracy, and productivity. As the Warehouse Team Leader, you will also be responsible for ensuring that warehouse operations adhere to company policies and quality standards, including compliance with ISO 13485. You will work closely with the Warehouse Manager, production, and quality teams to maintain accurate inventory levels, ensure timely shipments, and support the overall production process.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials, components, and finished products.
  • Ensure that warehouse activities, such as picking, packing, loading, and unloading, are performed efficiently and meet company quality and safety standards.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Supervise and lead a team of warehouse operatives, line feeders and Decant operatives ensuring that they meet performance expectations related to productivity, accuracy, and safety.
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to warehouse staff, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.

Inventory Management and Accuracy

  • Work with the warehouse team to ensure accurate inventory levels by conducting regular cycle counts and stock audits.
  • Ensure that inventory movements are accurately recorded in the warehouse management system (WMS) and aligned with MRP/ERP systems.

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Ensure that all warehouse activities comply with health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure that all team members are following established safety protocols.

Quality Control and Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure that all incoming and outgoing materials are inspected and meet the quality standards required for the production of IPL and light-based devices.
  • Support compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA regulations, ensuring that warehouse processes meet the required standards for medical device production.

Process Improvement

  • Work with the Warehouse Manager to identify and implement process improvements aimed at increasing warehouse efficiency, reducing waste, and improving workflow.
  • Monitor key warehouse metrics (e.g., order accuracy, pick rates, stock discrepancies) and suggest improvements to enhance performance.

Collaboration with Other Departments

  • Collaborate with the production, planning, and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials for production and dispatch of finished goods to meet customer demand.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve any issues related to material availability, stock levels, or order fulfillment.

Warehouse Maintenance and Equipment

  • Ensure that the warehouse is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Monitor the condition of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and arrange for maintenance or repairs as needed.

These tasks are not intended as an exhaustive list of the post holder's duties. The post holder is expected to carry out any reasonable request as deemed appropriate by their Line Manager to support business needs. Specific responsibilities and authorities are defined in procedures relevant to the role.

Required Experience/ Skills

Essential

  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a supervisory or team leader role within a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, skincare, or technology manufacturing).
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and MRP/ERP software for inventory tracking and planning.

Required Education/ Qualifications/ Training

Essential

  • Forklift operator certification

Desirable

  • Certification in warehouse management, supply chain management, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
