Warehouse Team Leader

Here at GXO, we're recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our Jellycat operation in Swadlincote on a 12-month maternity cover contract. Working a 5 on, 2 off shift pattern (13:30 – 22:00), you'll play a key role in leading warehouse colleagues, coordinating operational activity and ensuring customer expectations are consistently achieved.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead and coordinate daily warehouse operations, ensuring productivity, quality and service targets are consistently achieved across your designated areas
- Act as the first point of escalation for operational and colleague-related issues, proactively resolving challenges to maintain workflow and customer service levels
- Monitor and analyse operational KPIs, utilising warehouse systems and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and drive operational excellence
- Promote and maintain a strong health & safety culture, ensuring compliance with company procedures, conducting observations and supporting investigations where required
- Coach, develop and support warehouse colleagues, sharing best practice and building capability to create a highly engaged and high-performing team

What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor or similar operational leadership role within a warehouse or logistics environment
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Experience working with warehouse management systems and operational reporting tools to support decision-making and performance management
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams while building positive relationships across operational functions
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with a strong focus on customer service, continuous improvement and maintaining high operational standards
