Position: Warehouse Operative (Warehouse Team Leader)
Location: HM Prison Stocken (LE15 7RD)
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift: Mon to Fri – Working Hours
Salary: £27,496.46
Important Note: This role is based within a Prison. Enhanced Security Vetting is required for this position.
You must have a valid UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle for this role*.
About the Role
HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) enable prisoners to order goods using their own funds. DHL manages:
- Order handling (picking, packing)
- Distribution logistics
No two days are the same! As a key player, you’ll:
- Lead a prisoner workforce in a warehouse environment
- Oversee picking, packing, and quality control
- Reconcile inventory levels at the prison site

Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Guide prisoners in warehouse operations, including hands-on picking/packing tasks
- Stock Reconciliation: Accurately monitor warehouse stock levels
- Order Dispatch: Ensure timely and precise delivery of prisoner orders
- Operational Goals: Meet and exceed performance targets
Requirements
- Ability to thrive in a prison warehouse environment
- Preferred: Familiarity with warehouse workflows
- Clear communication across all levels of the team
- 3-year UK address history (mandatory for Enhanced Security Clearance)
- Full UK driving licence
