About Gap Renew
We refurbish and remanufacture over 35,000 washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, and fridges every year for brands including Hoover, Candy, AEG, Haier, and Beko, selling through eBay, our own online store, trade channels, and our Gateshead showroom.
We're an established, growing SME, which means the person in this role won't be a number. Your ideas on workflow, layout, and process will be heard and acted on.
The Role in One Line
Run the floor of one of the North East's busiest appliance refurbishment operations, a hands-on leadership role with a team of 9, a direct line to the Director of Operations, and real influence over how the operation grows.
What You'll Do
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of 9 warehouse and refurbishment staff, including daily task allocation, training, and performance feedback.
- Own the day-to-day flow of the floor: goods-in, refurbishment throughput, stock locations, picking, and dispatch.
- Drive process improvements that cut turnaround times and lift output, and see them implemented, fast.
- Keep stock accurate through regular counts using our own in-house stock system (full training given, no prior WMS platform experience needed).
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with our carriers and 3PL partners.
- Operate or oversee forklift and mechanical handling equipment safely, and keep health and safety standards front and center.
- Work directly with the Director of Operations on planning, KPIs, and continuous improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
