Warehouse Team Leader – ILG Logistics

The Role: Warehouse Team Leader

This hands-on, task-oriented leadership position ensures the smooth and efficient execution of warehouse operations. Reporting to the Manager, the Team Leader is accountable for overseeing key warehouse functions—including shipping—and maintaining company policies, safety standards, and high operational performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to company procedures, accurate workflows, and optimal resource utilisation (staff, equipment, systems).
  • Lead by example in shifting, stock management, picking and packing, and packing, ensuring exceptional customer service standards are met.
  • Identify bottlenecks in stock, workflow, or shipping processes and initiate problem-solving solutions proactively.
  • Responsible for accurate workload and task prioritisation, ensuring deadlines and process improvements are consistently achieved.
  • Consideration for team member performance management, training, and support where required.
  • Handle warehouse systems (e.g. WMS) and Microsoft Office365 (e.g. Excel) with competence.
  • Operate warehouse equipment—forklifts, conveyors, scanners—safely and effectively.
  • Uphold workplace safety, security, and compliance standards as the primary enforcer within the team.
  • Collaborate closely with Managers and other teams to maintain smooth operational performance.

Key Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within a warehouse (desirable).
  • Proven expertise in a warehouse operation to effectively manage designated areas, delivering high-value customer services.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills—identifying issues like stock discrepancies, optimising team workflows, and finding solutions.
  • Familiarity with KPIs and their relevance to operational success.
  • Ability to delegate and lead teams toward task completion while retaining hands-on operational engagement (handling day-to-day warehouse activities).
  • Methodical approach, with excellent judgement on channeling workload and timely execution.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office365.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts).
  • Commitment to health, safety, and security standards (training/teaching compliance where needed).
  • Adaptability with quick thinking within fast-paced environments.
  • Financial awareness and appreciation of operational efficiencies.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Understanding of the value of service provision through team effort.

Working Arrangements:

  • Operating Hours: Predominantly 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
