Here at GXO, we are looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our Nestle Purina contract based in Hams Hall, Birmingham. You will lead, motivate, and manage a team of operational colleagues on a daily basis, ensuring all statutory, safety, and company requirements are consistently met. You will help the site in the achievement of business objectives through efficient warehouse operations, strong people leadership, and effective use of warehouse management systems including EWM, Kronos, and Yard Management Systems (YMS).

This is a full-time, permanent position and you’ll be working an “Any 5 out of 7”, rotating over 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 37.5 hours per week with 2 rest days.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £33,280.00 plus shift allowance of £1418.30 per annum and 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities to ensure productivity, quality, and service KPIs are achieved
  • Lead a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring work is allocated effectively and completed within required timelines
  • Monitor workflow and adjust resource allocation to meet operational demands and changing priorities
  • Act as the first point of escalation for operational issues and resolve in a timely and effective manner
  • Oversee workforce management using Kronos, including attendance, scheduling, and timekeeping compliance
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound vehicle movements via Yard Management Systems (YMS) to ensure efficient yard flow and dock utilisation

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Previous Warehouse experience would be desirable
  • Motivated self-starter, comfortable working as part of a team and as an individual
  • Passion, drive and ambition to make a career in supply chain
  • Good communicator with good influencing skills who can operate at all levels
  • Interpersonal skills, integrity, and commercial awareness with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and works well under pressure and to deadlines
  • Flexible and supportive of customer contract and company requirements
  • Understand customer requirements
