Warehouse Team Leader (Late Shift 6PM–2AM) – Darlington – Supply Chain

About the Role

As a Warehouse Team Leader based in Darlington, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of warehouse operatives with a focus on customer service, operational efficiency, and staff development. This is a full-time position, working 6pm–2am, totalling 37.5 hours per week.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire a team to meet/exceed KPIs and deliver outstanding customer service
  • Ensure all operational processes are accurate, efficient, and compliant with:
    • Health, safety, and environmental standards
    • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF technology
  • Manage people leadership, including:
    • Performance reviews
    • Absence management
    • Holiday approvals
    • Training and development
  • Maintain inventory integrity through:
    • Cycle counts
    • Discrepancy investigations
    • Proper product handling
  • Coordinate daily operations, optimising workflows for:
    • Picking
    • Packing
    • Replenishment
    • Loading
  • Deploy resources effectively to meet service targets

Requirements

  • Proven success as a Team Leader/Supervisor in a high-volume, service-oriented warehouse
  • Strong leadership & management skills, including:
    • Coaching/mentoring
    • Conducting performance/disciplinary reviews
  • Excellent communication & conflict-resolution abilities
  • Competency with:
    • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
    • RF technology
  • Health & safety commitment:
    • Enforcing high standards of housekeeping
    • Driving operational efficiency and compliance
