QinetiQ Shoeburyness is a significant test and evaluation facility specialising in defence and security technologies, including environmental testing, ordnance, and explosives evaluation. This role involves supporting critical defence trials while ensuring environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
As a Warehouse Technician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting:
- Defence trials, testing programmes, and disposal activities
- Safe handling, storage, control, and movement of specialist materials and equipment
Daily tasks include:
- Warehouse operations, including stock management, receipting, storage, and issuing (ensuring compliance with safety standards)
- Maintaining accurate stock control records and inventory management systems
- Supporting warehouse inspections and audits to uphold established standards
- Assisting in logistics planning and material coordination for operational trials
- Contributing to risk assessments, safety procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver safe and effective outcomes

Essential Experience
- Experience in warehouse, logistics, stores, or inventory management environments
- Strong understanding of stock control processes and accurate record-keeping
- Knowledge of safe storage, handling, and movement of controlled or regulated materials
- Ability to follow procedures within a highly regulated environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance
- Valid Manual Driving Licence (essential for travel between sites)
Essential Qualifications
- A Level 2, Level 3, or Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in:
- Relevant technical, logistics, engineering, or defence-related discipline
- Equivalent practical experience if formal qualifications are absent

Role Details
- Contract type: Permanent
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Location: Shoeburyness (Prime site)
- Additional requirement: Travel to QinetiQ and customer sites as needed
- Security clearance: Minimum Sensitivity (SC) level required*
