Join us for an exciting opportunity with First Response as a Warehouse Yard Person in our fast-growing tool hire and site supplies business.
About the Role
Working in our busy, fast-paced warehouse environment, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our construction industry operations. Your key tasks will include:
- Picking and preparing customer orders efficiently
- Loading and unloading vehicles while ensuring safety
- Operating a forklift truck
- Updating our warehouse software and maintaining accurate stock records
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workspace with compliance to all safety standards
- Supporting stock checks and inventory control
- Collaborating with tool hire and site supplies teams daily for smooth operations

Responsibilities
- Picking customer orders efficiently and accurately
- Loading & unloading vehicles safely and timely
- Operating forklift trucks (Current experience preferred but not essential)
- Updating warehouse software + stock records
- Ensuring the warehouse remains organised, clean, and compliant
- Supporting stock checks + inventory control
- Daily collaboration with tool hire & site supplies teams
Must-Have Requirements
- Physically capable of handling construction tools and performing warehouse tasks
- Strong teamwork mindset, with a proud work ethic
- Excellent time management & attention to detail
- Forklift experience (XLQDZYR standard bonus) – preferred but not essential
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Confidence using computers + warehouse systems (e.g., PDA)
- Full UK driving licence – preferred
- Must demonstrate reliability, honesty & responsibility

Role Details
- Position: Warehouse Yard Man
- Salary: £25-£35k (based on experience)
- Hours: 07:30 – 17:00 (Monday to Friday)
- Location: Rainham, Essex Company Pension benefits included
