The Lockwood Group
The Lockwood Group is a dynamic forward thinking family run business established in 1965, which currently has over 400 employees across 8 UK sites. The group’s activities include UK transport, distribution and storage, frozen food production and co-packing solutions.
We are currently looking to recruit a Warehouse/Dispatch Operative to be based at our Ambergate site. Previous warehousing experience or experience of a similar role is essential. Must have warehouse knowledge, be motivated and able to work on own initiative.
About the Warehouse/Dispatch Operative role
- Working hours: 18:00 to 06:00 on a 4 on 4 off nights basis.
- Salary: Starts from £12.80 per hour, with an additional 50p per hour uplift for VNA/Shunting trained operatives, plus a £30.00 shift attendance bonus, paid weekly (subject to 100% attendance).
- Requirements:
- Must hold a full counterbalance FLT licence.
- PPT, VNA licences or shunting experience would be advantageous but are not essential.
- A full UK driving licence and checkable references are also required.

As a Warehouse Operative with the Lockwood Group you will be:
- Loading & unloading vehicles
- Cross docking/transhipping
- Use of handheld scanners
- Use of warehouse systems
- Other general warehouse duties

- VNA - Very Narrow Aisle
- Able to work well within a team environment and be motivated.
