Communications Officer – Permanent, Part-Time (20 hours per week)
Employer: Warfield Parish Council (in partnership with Bracknell Forest Council)
Salary: £19,136 – £21,160 per year pro-rata (equivalent to FTE £35,412 – £39,152) + a contributory pension scheme (Grade SCP 24-28)
Hours: 20 hours per week, with some evening meetings and weekend work required
About the Role
Warfield Parish Council seeks an ambitious, enthusiastic, and high-calibre professional to lead and deliver internal and external communications. The Communications Officer will ensure residents, partners, councillors, and staff receive clear, timely, and accessible information while advancing the Council’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an annual communications strategy, working closely with councillors and the Parish Clerk
- Create and maintain digital and printed communication channels (e.g., website, social media, newsletters)
- Enhance community engagement, promote services, facilities, and council events
- Oversee communication delivery across all channels, including resident updates
- Lead and deliver communications for the flagship Community Hub project, including:
- Updating residents on construction progress
- Developing a marketing plan for the Hub’s launch (targeting summer 2027)
- Contribute to the council’s broader strategic communication planning

Requirements & Skills
While formal qualifications are not strictly required, successful applicants will demonstrate:
