Warhead & Lethality Engineer
Overview
Cambridge Aerospace looking for highly capable Warhead & Lethality Engineers to lead the design, integration, modelling and evaluation of advanced warhead systems across a range of programmes. This is an opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, from early concept development through analysis, testing, qualification and production support .You will combine deep technical expertise with a collaborative approach, working closely with systems, guidance, mission operations and test teams to deliver innovative and effective solutions
. Responsibiliti e s Lead the design ,analysis and integration of warhead systems within missile and aerospace platform s.Apply advanced engineering principles, scientific methods and analytical techniques to solve complex technical challenge s.Conduct warhead performance assessments, lethality studies and vulnerability analyse s.Perform hydrocode modelling and simulation to support design development and validation activitie s.Define warhead requirements and interface specifications in collaboration with systems engineering, guidance, navigation and control (GNC), mission systems and platform team s.Support system-level performance modelling and trade studie s.Plan, support and analyse warhead development, qualification and acceptance testing activitie s.Work closely with the energetics and ordnance testing teams to design scientifically robust test programmes and evaluate result s.Support the transition of designs from development into productio n.Produce high-quality technical documentation, reports, requirements, test plans and design review s.Ensure technical rigour, engineering excellence and compliance with applicable standards throughout the development lifecycl e.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers where appropriat

Requireme n ts Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or another relevant STEM discipli ne.At least five years of experience in the development of warheads from conceptual design through final test / assemb ly.Working knowledge or experience with either missile design or development, productionsupportand integrati on.Strong understanding of explosives,energeticsand warhead performance principl es.Demonstrated ability to develop and lead collaborative efforts with other technical disciplines including structural, thermal, and aerodynami cs.Experience with MoD customers and/or associated contractor executives and technical leadersh
