Waste and Cleansing Driver

These roles offer the opportunity to work within a dedicated frontline service, using specialist equipment to help maintain a clean, safe and attractive city while supporting Nottingham City Council's commitment to delivering excellent environmental standards for all communities.

About You

• The ideal candidate(s) will hold a Full UK driving licence (up to 7.5 tonnes) and be enthusiastic, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality environmental services to the residents and communities of Nottingham. Previous experience within street cleansing, environmental services, waste management or a similar frontline role would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided. We are looking for individuals with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, possess a good awareness of health and safety, and be willing to learn how to operate a range of specialist vehicles, jet washing equipment, powered tools and cleansing machinery. Successful candidates will enjoy working outdoors, take pride in maintaining public spaces and be committed to delivering excellent customer service to residents, businesses and visitors across Nottingham.
• The role is physically demanding and requires individuals who are fit and capable of working in all weather conditions, undertaking activities such as walking long distances, lifting and carrying materials, and carrying out manual cleansing duties. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to engage professionally with members of the public, follow instructions, use your initiative and adapt to changing operational demands. You will also be comfortable using handheld devices and mobile technology to record work activities and complete job reporting requirements. A commitment to teamwork, equality, diversity and inclusion, continuous improvement and delivering a clean, safe and welcoming environment for all is essential.
